For the first time, Richmond Head Start will conduct their mandated vision screening for their 850 students through the Conexus Visiocheck program. Richmond Head Start sought out the services of Visiocheck after being exposed to the work of Conexus (formally Prevent Blindness Mid-Atlantic) and the MEDARVA funded WHEELS program in several of the Richmond City Schools. Visiocheck meets all the needs of the Head Start screening mandates and provides comprehensive services that extend beyond just the screening. Helping parents to understand their child’s screening report and providing access to care to those in need is just one benefit of VisioCheck. Family and student services offered through the program coupled with the data collection, analysis and reporting required for proper Headstart filings makes Visiocheck a valuable and affordable mean by which to help insure kindergarten readiness for their students!
