Conexus President and CEO, Tim Gresham, and Virginia Eye Institute (VEI) CEO, Brad Smith, offered a significant challenge to the staff at the nine VEI locations as they entered into their last week of collecting donations for the VEI-sponsored Conexus holiday fundraising campaign, Gift of Light.
The CEOs offered to serve breakfast for the staff at the location that collected the most donations in the final four days of the campaign, and several locations took this challenge very seriously!!! Our friends at the Huguenot Road location had their best week since opening the campaign, nearly doubling their weekly goal, but the staff at the Forest office continued to be the campaign’s top performer! Carolyn Clowers and her coworker Lisa Lewis collected over $400 in just 4 days to secure their breakfast winnings!! Carolyn and Lisa have been the top campaign performers for 3 years in a row, collecting over $1,500 in just 4 weeks this year to help support Conexus and our children’s vision programs. We can’t wait to send Tim and Brad with their aprons to play host for the very deserving staff at Forest Road!! Well done!

A Tradition of Saving Sight Conexus, formerly known as Prevent Blindness Mid-Atlantic, was established in 1957 as the National Society to Prevent Blindness - Virginia Affiliate. Throughout our history, our name has changed to reflect our vision and reach, but our mission is clear: eliminating undetected and untreated vision problems as barriers to success, enabling all children to reach their fullest potential.
