The 2017 Conexus Golf Classic opened as one of the wettest in the event’s history, but thankfully concluded with sunshine, smiles, and another successful day, netting over $106,000 in support of the Conexus mission!
Hermitage Country Club was yet again an amazing host to the event. The recent renovations to the clubhouse entrance, tournament staging area and golf pro-shop were beautiful. The staff was flexible and accommodating with all the rain, and the new Golf Pro, Matt Evans, kept the day on track. How Hermitage staff respond to the needs of the day, whatever they may be, is always something Conexus can count on to insure the best possible experience for our guests.
After a morning of driving rain, the clouds seemed to part around 1:30 and it was smooth sailing from there on out! Congratulations to the winners of the Siegel Cup – ColonialWebb: Jason Forsyth, Kent Graham, Matt Mellert, Nathan Wethington.
Conexus is pleased to have Essilor as the tournament Cart Sponsor and we look forward to hosting their foursome at the sold out June 5th Event. There are still a few named sponsorship opportunities available for those seeking high profile exposure to more than 250 guests and golfers!
In just one month, the June 5th Conexus Golf Classic sold out with 52 committed teams!! This is an all-time record for the tournament and is a direct reflection of the caliber of the tournament committee, the event venue, and the commitment of our community to improve vision outcomes for students.
The 26th Annual Golf Classic is Conexus’ largest fundraising event and is projected to net more than $100,000 in support of our technology based comprehensive children’s vision programs.
Conexus and the tournament planning committee are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support for the 26th Annual Tournament, presented by Taylor & Parrish Construction! The June event is already a near sell out with 51 committed teams! We welcome the following major sponsors:
The 26th Annual Golf Classic kicked off today with the first meeting of the tournament planning committee. In a new tournament record, the kick off meeting began with 36 committed teams, leaving only 16 available slots before selling out!!!
The committee is now in full swing with hopes of closing out team sales before the end of the month.
Taylor and Parrish Construction is stepping up again this year to act as the presenting sponsor of the 26th Annual Conexus Golf Classic. Last year T&P advanced their sponsorship level from Co-Presenting Sponsor to the lead event sponsor and elevated the event to one of the most successful in recent history! Under the leadership of John Locher, Partner, T&P and longtime tournament chairman, the 2016 tournament raised over $107,000 and brought in several new teams and sponsors.
“We are very pleased to have John’s continued leadership and support of the Golf Classic and look forward to another excellent year,” said Tim Gresham, Conexus President and CEO.
The 25th Annual Conexus Classic was held on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the beautiful Hermitage Country Club in Manakin-Sabot, VA. With a sold out 54-team field playing on both courses at the prestigious Hermitage, the day was another great success in the long history of this premier corporate golf outing. Net proceeds from the event are estimated at $105,000, making a great impact on Conexus and our children’s vision programs.
Again this year, the event’s success is owed in no small part to the Tournament Committee Chairman John Locher, Principal at Taylor & Parrish, the event’s Presenting Sponsor. Each year, John works tirelessly to gain support for the event and our organization, actively recruiting committee members, teams, and other sponsors. As a reflection of his commitment to Conexus and the Golf Classic, 19 teams now hold the status of Locher Legacy Member, sponsoring a team in the tournament for at least seven consecutive years. John has been Chairman of the tournament committee for 14 years, and we look forward to another incredible event under his leadership and support on June 5 of next year.
