Today kicks off the 4th annual Gift of Light campaign sponsored by Virginia Eye Institute. The Gift of Light is VEI’s holiday fundraiser with all proceeds to benefit the children’s vision programs at Conexus.
Each of the nine VEI locations (which includes the Surgery Center) is working to raise their portion of a $3,000 donation goal over the course of the next four weeks. If each of the individual locations is successful meeting their location goal….ALL the VEI doctors will make a match to each successful location!!!
This is a wonderful opportunity for VEI and their patients to help make sure that our area students are getting the eye care that they need to be successful in school. We hope that you will support them in their efforts and help each location make their goal!!!
If you happen to be a patient at one of the locations and would like to make a donation to support their fundraising goal, click here for a secure online donation and make sure just to list select from the menu the location you would like to support.
Thank you for your support and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Conexus is excited to share the new of a forthcoming award from the Dominion Foundation. The Dominion Foundation is a new partner of Conexus and we are pleased to have the opportunity to expand our services and programs across Virginia through their support!
As part of the study being conducted through the support of Dr. Evan Silverstein and VCU, Conexus has begun the delivery of eye exams and glasses through the VSP mobile vision clinics. Over the next few weeks, volunteer doctors will lend their services to Conexus and the students at Chesterfield County schools to provide free eye exams and glasses to those students who were found through the screening process to need a follow-up eye exam.
The students couldn’t be more excited about the idea of getting glasses (so many for the first time) and we couldn’t be more excited to have the opportunity to be part of such an amazing team. Conexus extends a huge thank you to VSP techs, Lori and Kim for spending two weeks away from their home in California to help support our program here in Virginia, and also to our volunteer doctors who are pushing the envelope daily to see as many students as possible. We truly have some of the best partners and volunteers!!
