![]() On the evening of June 16th, Governor and Mrs. Jim Gilmore graciously opened their home to community leaders who were interested in learning more about how improving vision outcomes for our students will impact education. Patricia Cornwell joined the event as a special guest and shared her passionate comments about the work of Conexus and how Virginia’s students are at risk of falling behind in school due to the prevalence of undetected and untreated vision problems. We are grateful for the support of so many and are excited to have the opportunity share our mission with those who are in a position to help Conexus expand its reach. These are exciting days for Conexus and we are eager to move forward.

The 2017 Conexus Golf Classic opened as one of the wettest in the event’s history, but thankfully concluded with sunshine, smiles, and another successful day, netting over $106,000 in support of the Conexus mission!
Hermitage Country Club was yet again an amazing host to the event. The recent renovations to the clubhouse entrance, tournament staging area and golf pro-shop were beautiful. The staff was flexible and accommodating with all the rain, and the new Golf Pro, Matt Evans, kept the day on track. How Hermitage staff respond to the needs of the day, whatever they may be, is always something Conexus can count on to insure the best possible experience for our guests. After a morning of driving rain, the clouds seemed to part around 1:30 and it was smooth sailing from there on out! Congratulations to the winners of the Siegel Cup – ColonialWebb: Jason Forsyth, Kent Graham, Matt Mellert, Nathan Wethington. |
