Conexus Board member, Ed Greene, was honored at The Vision Council's 2015 Executive Summit held Jan. 21-23 at the PGA National Resort in Florida. The Summit enjoyed another record-breaking attendance of over 340 industry leaders, who came together on Wednesday evening to celebrate Ed’s lifetime achievements and contributions to the vision industry. Ed, who recently retired as the CEO of The Vision Council, has made a tremendous impact in the world of vision, which was evident by the support of his friends and colleagues who attended the dinner in his honor. Conexus is proud and humbled to have the leadership and friendship of such an industry icon and we look forward to his continued work through our organization. Congratulations Ed!
Over the last couple of years, we have been reaching families through a partnership with Chesterfield Women's Journal. This free resource for area women (Chesterfield, VA) provides valuable information on health, family, community, and other topics, and we are proud to be part of this quarterly publication. Our most recent contribution can be found here.
Julie Bragg, Chair of our Communications Committee and CBS 6 News Anchor, takes her passion for children's vision a step further. See what she does for Marley in this Channel 6 news story.
It’s truly a privilege for us to be involved in a program that is so impactful to the community. We hope that as more parents learn about the importance of healthy vision and impact on education we can reach more and more children – no child should be unsuccessful in school due to an undetected or untreated vision problem.
At Conexus we love hearing from our partners and families. Thanks for sharing your comments about our very important programs. 80% of what a child learns in school is through vision, and 1 in 4 children has a vision problem significant enough to impact learning. That’s why Conexus works to support children’s vision programs, helping to ensure our kids are successful in school!!
Conexus starts the new year with exciting changes and opportunities on the horizon. As we enter 2015 we would like to thank our Board, staff, volunteers, and partners for all of their support during our transition in 2014. We look forward to expanding our programs, services, message and reach throughout the coming year and would love to hear from you! Stay up to date on our events, screenings, and highlights on our website at www.ConexusVision.org. Wishing you and your family all the best for 2015!
